It is given as a drip (intravenous infusion) or as an injection directly into a vein or a muscle under the guidance of a medical professional. Your physician will decide the correct dosage for you. This drug will be given to you routinely at evenly spaced intervals as per the schedule advised by your physician. Dont skip any dosages and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping the drug too early may lead to the returning or worsening of infection.The most common adverse effects of this drug include loose motions, rash, and changes in hepato billiary function tests and blood cell counts. Some people may develop short term redness or pain at the site of injection. These adverse effects are usually mild but let your physician know if they bother you or dont go away.Before consuming it, you should let your physician know if you are allergic to any antibiotics or have any renal or hepato billiary problems. You should also let your medical team know all other drugs you are taking as they may affect, or be impacted by this drug.
