You can take This medicine(Acmetel-CH Tablet) with or without food. The dosage will depend on your condition and how your respond to the drug. Try to take it at the same time each day. It is important to continue this drug until your physician tells you not to. It contains a diuretic (water pill) and will make you urinate more so, it is best to abstain from taking this drug within four hours of going to bed. Use this drug routinely to get the most benefit from it even if you feel well. High blood pressure does not usually have symptoms and if you stop consuming it your risk of heart attack or stroke may increase.
The most common adverse effect is dizziness. Other adverse effects nausea, loose motions, headache, and altered blood lipids. Frequent urination is not a adverse effect of this drug. It is the purpose of chlorthalidone and helps control your blood pressure. You may experience other possible adverse effects, but most are rare. Make sure you read the leaflet that comes with your drugs and tell your physician if you are bothered by adverse effects or they dont go away. It may be possible to adjust your dosage or try a different drug.
This drug is not advised during pregnancy and you should ask your physician before consuming it if you have renal or hepato billiary disease, heart trouble or diabetes. Drinking alcohol can further lower your blood pressure and may cause adverse effects.
