This medicine(Disorb 50mg Tablet) should be administered just before or along with a meal. The dosage and how often you need it will be decided by your physician so that you get the right amount to control your random blood sugar levels. It may be increased gradually. Dont stop consuming it without consulting your physician. If you do, your random blood sugar levels may increase and put you at risk of serious problems like renal damage and blindness.
This drug is only part of a treatment program that should also include a healthy diet, routine exercise, and weight reduction as explained by your physician. Monitor your random blood sugar levels routinely while taking this drug.
This drug’s most common adverse effects include flatulence (gas), pain abdomen, and loose motions. Please consult your physician if these bother you or dont go away.
This medicine(Disorb 50mg Tablet) by itself does not cause hypoglycemia (low random blood sugar levels). Although, when used in combination with other diabetes drugs (especially insulin or sulphonylureas), it can lead to hypoglycemia (low random blood sugar levels). Such episodes of hypoglycemia should be treated by taking plain glucose. Table sugar or common sugar will not help correct low random blood sugar levels if you are taking this drug.
Before consuming it, let your physician know if you have any renal or hepato billiary problems. Dont take this drug if you have ulceration or inflammation in the bowel (eg. ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease). Pregnant or lactating women should also consult their physician before consuming it. Please tell your physician about all the other drugs you are taking to make sure you are safe. Abstain from excessive alcohol intake while taking this drug as it may increase the risk of hypoglycemia (low random blood sugar levels).
