This medicine(Truoin Gel) reduces excessive oil production of the skin. Ideally, a pinpoint application at nighttime is advised for the duration advised by your physician. The amount you need and for how long you need to take it will depend on what you are being treated for. You should normally wash and dry the impacted area before applying a thin layer of this drug. Follow your physician’s directions. You should not apply it to damaged or broken skin and abstain from contact with your mouth, eyes, and nose. It may take several weeks for your symptoms to improve but keep using it routinely to get the most benefit. Consult your physician again if you dont notice any improvement after a few weeks. Using more drug or applying it more often than advised will not make it work any faster and may increase the adverse effects.

The most common adverse effects include irritation, dryness, and redness of the skin. They are usually mild and improve as your body gets used to the drug. Drink plenty of water and use moisturizer as it may lead to dryness of the mouth, lips, and eyes. Let your physician know if these adverse effects bother you or dont go away. Serious adverse effects with this drug are rare.

This drug may make you more sensitive to sunlight so you should limit exposure to the sun if possible. It may make your skin more fragile. It is explained, not to have any waxing (hair removal), or laser treatments during treatment. Pregnant women or women who are planning to get pregnant should not use this drug as it can lead to birth defects.
